Nurse LPN
Responsibilities:
JOB
Summary:
Work in tandem with the patient representative and triage nurse and tech to manage patients and visitors and improve patient experience. Medicate patients per protocol and reassess for changes in clinical presentation.
Provides patient care, treatment, and services within the scope of their license, certification, registration, and/or assessed competencies. Practice will be in accordance with laws and regulations and will adhere to established policies, procedures and practice guidelines.
JOB
Responsibilities:
Greet patients upon arrival using AIDET.
Provide frequent updates to patients/family members waiting (every 15-20 minutes).
Conduct and document reassessments and vital signs (per policy and PRN).
Medicate for pain within scope of practice per the triage protocols, assess pain levels and medication effectiveness via reassessment per policy.
Collaborate with Triage Nurse and Clinical Coordinator on patient status and plan for placement.
Provide comfort measures for patients and families waiting.
Assist in patient arrival surges.
Assist in preventing patients from leaving without being seen by a provider.
Participates in continuous quality improvement teams and activities.
Participates in supporting the organization's vision, mission and values and adheres to DeKalb Medical Standards of Behavior.
Performs other duties as assigned to meet the goals and objectives of DeKalb Medical.
QUALIFICATIONS
Minimum Education, Experience and Licensure Required:
Actively Licensed nurse in the state of Georgia required
BLS certification through the American Heart Association required.
Skills, Knowledge and Abilities:
Performs skills and competencies as defined in orientation checklist and annual departmental competency checklist if applicable.
Demonstrates and maintains competencies specific to patient population served.
